For the upscale brunch – Whitebird at 102 Walnut Street.
Featured in Southern Living among other lifestyle publications, Whitebird, on the ground floor of The Edwin Hotel, is home to a spacious dining room and an outdoor seating area that welcomes dogs. This chic restaurant has an extensive menu with locally sourced ingredients and offers a twist on modern Appalachian cuisine. After their famous “biscuit board” brunch, you can stop at The Ice Cream Show for dessert before walking over the river via the Walnut Street Bridge with your pooch.

A rustic, natural bakery and a local institution, Niedlov’s is a hometown favorite. Fresh baked bread, light menu items, exceptional coffee, and a safe, gated outdoor patio space make it a perfect place to take your four-legged companion. Be aware that you order inside so your pup will have to wait for you. Take home a loaf of sourdough or one of their other beautiful breads which are baked fresh daily.
For the working holiday – Mean Mug Coffeehouse 114 West Main Street.
Mean Mug is a local coffee chain, and this particular location has a huge patio and lots of outlets for plugging in and logging on. The coffee is fantastic, and even large dogs will have plenty of space to spread out and cool off with a dish of water. All dietary needs are catered to, so this really is a cafe for everyone with plenty of parking, breakfast and lunch all day, open seven days a week.
For the quintessential tourist hotspot – Café 7 / Rock City 1400 Patten Rd, Lookout Mtn.
